This is a wonderful small town second chance romance. Holland and Jake were high school sweethearts and Holland broke Jake’s heart when she left without saying goodbye and went off to college. Fast forward a few years and Holland is back and although they haven’t spoken in years, she hopes Jake has forgiven her. It’s awkward at first but persistence and a reconnection shows them that a second chance is definitely in the cards. This book is all about a second chance at love with a twist. Usually in this trope is the MMC the one who has to do the grovelling, but this time you will enjoy the FMC version of it. Holland and Jake were in love all through high school and had planned their future, but misunderstandings made Holland leave him without saying good bye. YEars after, her love is still dormant, so she will find a way to fight and get Jake to listen to her one more time. This story was sweet and there are a few twists, but there is a great group of side characters and an interesting plot that wil have you reading it all!!
This is book four in The Crystal Shores Romance series and it is Jake and Holland’s story. Jake and Holland have history because they had been high school sweethearts and each other’s everything only for Holland to leave Jake without saying goodbye which left them both heartbroken but now many years later and Holland is back but she doesn’t know how he will react. Jake and Holland haven’t spoken to each other in years and ever time she tries he just walks away but now they are both at the animal conference together so will this give them the opportunity to reconnect and get that second chance of a future together that they both originally wanted or is it already too late which leaves them in a stalemate situation. The attraction, connection and chemistry between Jake and Holland is still as strong as ever and even with all the distance between them there love for each other never went away and definitely stood the test of time and you find yourself hoping that they can eventually communicate and be able to reconcile all there differences. I really enjoyed reading this second chance romance with all it’s ups and downs along the way and I look forward to reading more books in the future.
