Light My Life is book one in the Crystal Shores series and it took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. Sarah had a rough life growing up and Eddie lost his wife and was left a single dad. This is a heartbreakingly beautiful story about two people who find each other at the right time. I absolutely loved Sarah, Eddie, Kelsey and their journey of life and love. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Terra Kelly brings us book 1 in a series called Crystal Shores. We meet widower Eddie, his daughter Kelsey and Sarah. It’s an intriguing story, with down to earth characters, drama, secrets, heartbreak, healing and so much more. If small town is your thing then your going to want this one. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this series and author.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Light My Heart is the first book in the Crystal Shores series by Terra Kelly. This is the story of Sarah and Eddie, and his daughter Kelsey. It also introduces the reader to the small and quaint town of Crystal Shores, Michigan and some of its sweet and quirky inhabitants. So we get some of the background and some of the characters that will be in future books.Sarah grew up with an abusive and harsh father and a mother who did not defend or protect her. So she left her home in North Carolina and moved to Crystal Shores. There she rents a rundown home, the only thing she can afford, and gets a job at Marv's Grocery store.Eddie was widowed a year ago and has been mourning his wife Sara since. But he now is a single father to sweet and adorable four year old Kelsey. He is trying his best, which can be hard sometimes as he is a firefighter. But he has a wonderful sister, Jan, who helps and is and Kelsey are great together.Sarah and Eddie live down the road from each other. When Sarah discovers just how unsafe the house that she rented is she has to figure out what to do. Lucky for her Kelsey and Jan are smart as Eddie ends up offering Sarah his guest room to stay in. Yes they are attracted to each other but both are afraid and have a lot of their own baggage. But there is even more thrown into the mix when Sarah's father shows up and tries to force her to come back home with him, "where she belongs" according to him. Will Eddie let Sarah get away before he acknowledges that it is okay for him to move on and love Sarah? Will Sarah finally learn to trust a man with Eddie, knowing that he will not hurt her?Just how precocious can Kelsey get? Although she is really cute and smart also. This is a sweet, small town romance with some drama and a whole lot of emotion. You will go through a few tissues as you read Light My Heart but it is worth the running mascara.I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
